Biography
Aisha Mohamed is a research-driven academic and multilingual professional with a background in International Relations, African Studies, and education. She holds a Master of Arts in African Studies from the University of Copenhagen and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Political Science from Malmö University.
Her research interests include youth politics, moral reasoning, political imagination, governance, decoloniality, migration, and peace and security in African and transnational contexts. She is trained in qualitative research methods, including interviews, discourse analysis, and visual analysis. She currently teaches International Relations at Abu Dhabi University and serves as Research Director at MEA Institute for Strategic Studies, where she leads research and programme coordination on governance, development, and cultural policy topics.
Her professional experience includes research and governance-related roles with Ventures Middle East, the African Union Commission, and Jobcenter Copenhagen, giving her practical experience across African, MENA, and European policy contexts. She is fluent in Arabic, Swedish, Somali, and English, with working proficiency in Danish.
