Amarjot is a Research Associate at the MEA Institute for Strategic Studies, specialising in the intersection of resource politics, geoeconomic competition and non-state armed groups. Her research interests centre on strategic competition and emerging Asia-Africa multilateralism, particularly how statecraft shapes security dynamics and foreign policy frameworks like ‘South-South Cooperation’.
Amarjot holds a First-Class honours degree in International Relations from King’s College London, where she was awarded the Associateship of King’s College (AKC). Her undergraduate dissertation examined the overlap of the Russian state and non-state armed groups, their influence on regional security in North Africa and the theoretical implications of unconventional warfare on existing international geopolitical frameworks. Before joining MEA, she worked in Canadian federal politics. In 2026, Amarjot was elected a member of the Common Futures Conversations at Chatham House as part of the Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership and the Next Generation.
