Danica Eirin Torrens

Biography

Danica is a Communications Associate at MEA with experience in political communications, legislative research and social media strategy. She is currently pursuing the Erasmus Mundus Global Journalism program and holds a B.A in Political Science and Middle East Studies from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She is Norwegian-Canadian, but was born and raised in Luxembourg.

She has extensive in experience in strategic communications. Prior to her master’s, she worked for as a Digital Communications Assistant Canadian Member of Parliament, later also becoming a Legislative Assistant. She has also worked in communications at her alma mater and the European Court of Justice.

In addition to professional work, Danica has long been involved in youth-led activism including student groups and journalism projects.

Outside of this Danica enjoys reading, dancing, swimming and trying new cafés across London.
