Katie Gallagher is a Research Associate at the MEA Institute, based in Brooklyn, New York. She holds a BA in International Affairs from George Washington University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a concentration in Middle East Studies and minors in Arabic and Journalism. During her studies, she spent a semester living and studying in Amman, Jordan.
Katie speaks Arabic and French, both of which have been central to her academic and professional work. Her experience spans humanitarian and policy settings across the MENA region, and she brings together strong analytical skills with a deep commitment to humanitarian work. She has worked closely with refugee and civil society communities, as well as in policy and advocacy roles, bringing cultural fluency and a grounded perspective to her research.
