Biography

Being passionate about interdisciplinarity and striving to become a generalist in a world of specialists, Elena has a Master’s Degree in International and Development Studies from the Geneva Graduate Institute and a Bachelor‘s in Philosophy, International and Economic Studies from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. 


Currently in Italy, she has worked as a student researcher for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) – dealing with urban violence and city diplomacy – as a policy and research intern at the International Code of Conduct Association (ICoCA) – focusing on how new technologies are influencing private security companies’ conduct when it comes to human rights and International law – as a research assistant for youth think-tanks such as Conflict Lab (Africa focus), and as an intern at the Territorial Commission for the Recognition of International Protection of Padova. 
 
Right now she is collaborating with the Venice Foundation for Research on Peace – which aims to close the gap between institutions and young students through themes related to peace – and the think-tank Kazakhstan-EU Gateway.
