Karl Theus is a Research Fellow at the MEA Institute for Strategic Studies and works with an NGO providing legal assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Switzerland. He previously served at the Swiss Embassy in Armenia, contributing to the political and economic sections, and completed an internship at the German Chamber of Commerce in Moscow.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Governance and Diplomacy from Sciences Po Paris and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. His research focuses on geopolitics and security dynamics in the Middle East, the Caucasus, and Central Asia, with a particular emphasis on Russian foreign policy and the role of energy and trade corridors in international relations.
